Fish! was good. etcher met us for a drink before hand, but - weak willed thing that she is - was persuaded to come for dinner too - hurrah!! When we got to Fish! the table wasn't ready - so they gave us complimentary champagne. It seemed churlish to stop drinking it, so we bought a bottle too - hurrah again...

All in all a very fun evening - political differences of opinion included. It remains a mystery to me how some people who are so pleasant and bright and such good company can say - without any shade of awkwardness - "I am a right wing Republican" - but I guess it takes all sorts....

This being written some time after the event as I have been laid low with a vile and noxious stomach bug, the details of which are to ghastly to even begin to describe... More chicken soup, anyone?
