May. 9th, 2003 06:16 pmToday I am Birthday Boy. Please send your gifts to the address below.
We celebrated last night in Grand Style.. a bottle of champagne and a hand-crafted platter of the following delicacies....plump olives, Bresaola, Serrano ham, Chorizo, peppers in oil and herbs, artichoke hearts, black olive and anchovy tapenade, smoked salmon, salad leaves, ciabatta and a sort of folded ciabatta thingy stuffed with cheese and sundried tomatoes...and creme brulee to finish... we never made it to the cheese (brie, roquefort, chevre)...but did manage to force down a cofee cognac...
On the pressie front I was blessed with Great Blessings - a rather snazzy assortment of boxer shorts (ask me nicely and I might show you them) - the McCartney Live in the US DVD - a pair of beautiful - trust me on this - just absolutely bleedin' beautiful kitchen knives (as sharp as Ocar Wilde and as elegant as Cary Grant) - the collected Python movies on DVD - some replacement steels for my knife sharpener - some rathr yummy cleanser and moisturiser (yes..I am vain...I admit it) - and a teeny-tiny digital camera (a SiPix) - so anticipate a flurry of photos...
From other sources: a startling cheque from me Mum (we shall use it to finance a meal at St Johns) and a mini-leatherman from Em's parents (to replace the one I had confiscated at an airport through my own stupidity).
What a lucky chap I am, eh? *beams happily*
Tomorrow I am off to the Zoo with The Girls (10 year old twins for those of you not paying attention) - that should be great fun..and on Sunday I'm off to New York for a business trip - new camera held tightly in my sweaty hand... watch this space....
~scampers off to play with new toys~
