Flew to Amsterdam yesterday for a meeting on Public Key Infrastructure architectures. Flight hideously delayed at Heathrow but got here eventually in time for a swift beer then dinner at the Five Flies restaurant. An outstanding dining experience - I chose the "surprise" menu which consisted of: pheasant mousse, fillet of red mullet, venison steak and creme brulee - but these few bald words fail to capture the exquisite flavours, attentive, friendly service and delightful ambience....
It occurs to me that so far this week I have only eaten in restaurants. Monday to The International in St Martin's Lane, for dinner with a colleague from the US. Tuesday to The Oxo Tower Restaurant with a former colleague from work, to celebrate her new job.
This is not good for my waist line. Oh no.
