Jan. 23rd, 2004 05:46 pmHave just spent two hours at the vets with Ruby - the little black cat. She has been off-colour for the last couple of weeks, and has been looking increasingly manky over the last few days - thin coat, thin body, listless - so a visit was indicated.
The news is mixed and not very optimistic... The blood tests encouragingly revealed that she has no major infection, no kidney problems and no liver problems. The Feline Lukaemia test was also negative. So far so good. An external examination revealed a lump in her abdomen, where there shouldn't be a lump....so she goes in tomorrow for investigative surgery *sigh*.
The vet said they might find something inoperable, or something that could be biopsied...and suggested that we give her (Ruby, not the vet) lots of cuddles tonight... In my book that counts as a pessimistic prognosis...
I am officially very sad indeed.
