Jun. 12th, 2004 06:23 pmTo Suzanne and Paul's this afternoon, for tea. They have returned from their holiday in Devon and The Girls seem to have grown another couple of inches in the three weeks since I last saw them. I suppose that's what grils do at the age of 11-ish, but if they carry on at this rate it will end in tears.
The Girls have taken up climbing of late, so are generally "jiggered" by tea-time on Saturday, having spent the best part of the day scrambling up rocks. But they were pleased to show off the pictures they had taken with the digital camera they got for Christmas. Rock Pools, Crabs and Starfish featured quite heavily, but pride of place was reserved for the record of their first ever riding lesson. Being 11 they are in the thrall of all things equine, but horse-related activities are sparse in the Dark Heart of South London - especially at £15 an hour....
This evening I am cooking liver, so vegetarians turn away. I shall soften some sliced onions in oilive oil, then fry some strips of bacon and then dredge strips of lambs liver in seasoned flour and fry them over a very hot flame - maybe adding a little chilli. Servedwith new potatoes and rocket salad. Doesn't sound too offal does it? :-)
