Jo died just before midnight last night. I've known her since I was about 16 and she nurtured my love of acting. I am so very sad - she was a remarkable woman of enormous talent. I am glad that her illness was quite short - she would have hated being an invalid. I feel privileged to have known her and to have been directed by her.
