Mar. 14th, 2004 08:40 pmToday was the tech run and then the first dress rehearsal. Techs are a pain - lots of standing around while sound and lighting people do complicated things with electronic gizmos. But it wasn't too bad... it started slow but soon gathered momentum, driven by the director's concern that most of the cast (including myself, dear reader) are somewhat debilitated due to The Cold That Comes with a Nasssty Cough.
The Dress went very well.... surprisingly well, really. I managed not to cut out great chunks (unlike the last time we rehearsed) and it flowed and was generally Good. The final secene is really quite moving... Herself (the director) claimed to have tears in her eyes (but I put this down to the early symptoms of the Cold That Comes with a Nasssty Cough).
We finished at around 4:30 - a pretty full day (for a Sunday) given that we started at 10:00-ish...but much better than most tech/dress runs...
Now nursing a glass of port to heal my ravaged throat and forlornly looking at the meetings that are booked for tomorrow at work... My head is full of cotton wool, my sinuses resemble the Blackwall Tunnel during the rush hour and I have a headache. Why, oh why, am I allergic to aspirin?
