VCR blues

It is hard to buy a bog standard video recorder these days, it seems.  In any event, I felt compelled to replace a dead VHS VCR with a shiny new DVD/VCR combo yesterday. Perhaps I should have shopped around more, but the price differential between a simple VCR and a DVD/VCR combo was small enough to make me give in.
